As a hard-working business owner, single mother, and full-time student, MaGee is pleased that Northampton Community College (NCC) offers classes online.   

A resident of Easton, she had been out of school for 20 years when her son started college. She decided to start as well as a psychology major.  “I love helping people and would really like to help them in a more professional manner rather than just lending them an ear,” she says. “I am intrigued with people and their interactions with others.”  MaGee would love to work with young children in a professional setting.  

She recommends the psychology program for those who love people and want to learn more about them and to educate themselves about other cultures so we can have a better and more friendly world for our future children. 

Janine MaGee found the flexibility to pursue her passion at NCC.

MaGee found the psychology classes to be very educational and the staff extremely helpful.  “They push you to do better, and they have the confidence in you to help you succeed.  I’ve become more sure of myself and pushed myself to do better than I ever expected.” 

A recipient of the Hites Family Foundation Scholarship and a member of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society and the National Society of Leadership and Success, she was also chosen Online Student of the Month, June 2019. 

MaGee plans to pursue her bachelor’s degree at Kutztown University.

Myra Saturen has been a writer for organizations for thirty years, including 14 for NCC. She has a bachelor's degree in English from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Binghamton and a master's degree in social work from Columbia University. In addition to writing for organizations, she has written for a variety of magazines and has had two young adult novels published. She also works as a writing tutor in NCC's Learning Center. She is a native New Yorker who has lived in Bethlehem Township for thirty-one years. She is married with two adult children. Her hobbies are reading, yoga and exercise.
