As part of a new mask optional policy at Northampton Community College (NCC), students, faculty, staff and visitors will no longer be required to wear a face covering mask when at any NCC facility effective March 14. Masks will remain an option of personal preference.

Faculty members may, at their discretion, request students wear masks in their classrooms. All students, faculty, staff and visitors are reminded to respect other’s masking preferences and to continue to carry a mask for use as needed. Masks will remain available through Deans’ offices, building lobbies and at the Health Center.

The college’s decision to go mask optional is in line with guidance from the local health care community and is consistent with recommendations of the CDC. In doing so, NCC joins many other colleges locally and nationally to adopt a mask optional policy.

Masking protocols at NCC are subject to change depending on infection rates and CDC recommendations to protect the health and safety of our campus community.

As of March 14, faculty, staff and students who have not been vaccinated will no longer need to complete the health check in the NCCGo mobile app. However, current testing protocols for athletes and residence hall students will remain in place.
