Northampton Community College (NCC) will host a one-day event on March 27, 2022 comprised of four high school senior basketball games starting at 10 a.m. in the Bethlehem campus Spartan Center gym. The Lehigh Valley Basketball Senior All-Star Classic is presented by the St. Luke’s University Health Network (SLUHN).
At the halfway point of the day, a ceremony will be held to induct the newest members into the Lehigh Valley Basketball Hall of Fame. Two scholar-athlete awards will also be presented.
Established in the 1970s, the event showcases the Lehigh Valley’s best graduating high school senior basketball players, coaches and contributors from now and the past.
The event supports Via of the Lehigh Valley and uses the event to help spread awareness and raise money for the Via’s mission. After last year, when Via announced it had to step down from running the event, committee members pulled together and made sure the classic would continue.

NCC Athletic Director Troy Tucker is on the committee for the event and is excited for NCC to host for the 13th time.
“It has been a good addition for us, and I think it has worked out for everybody,” Tucker said. “We’re just happy to keep this going and we have always wanted to support it in any way we can.”
Tucker’s men’s and women’s basketball programs have always featured a lot of Lehigh Valley kids and having the all-star games at the Spartan Center gives them a sense of what the school is all about.
“We’ve had several kids play for our teams that are Via alumni,” Tucker said. “Having the games here does open some people’s eyes. … People who come out to these games, who may live within a 5 or 10-mile radius and yet have never been on campus. … they’re kind of amazed when they come in here and see what we have to offer.”
