The Athletic Department is excited to share the news that the first official contest of 2021 for Northampton Athletics will be on Sunday, March 14. Baseball opens the 2021 season with a trip to Maryland to face NJCAA Division II CCBC-Catonsville, while Softball is set to open their season on March 25, when they host Region 19 foe Sussex County Community College.

Since March 12, 2020, there were discussions, planning and implementation of protocols that have allowed NCC Athletics to be in a position today to provide our spring sport student-athletes with the opportunity to return to competition.  The return to play plan has definitely been a college-wide effort and the athletic department thanks the members of the Northampton COVID-19 Task Force for their support and guidance through this process.

Baseball and Softball will follow NCAA testing protocols this spring, and will follow NJCAA Region 19 guidelines for competition, in addition to strict guidelines for travel, outlined by the US Council for Athlete’s Health (USCAH).  Student-athletes will wear masks at all times, except during competition, and will maintain social distancing whenever possible.  Student-athletes have each received individual water bottles for use during practice and hand-sanitation stations have been set up at various locations to promote hand hygiene.

Northampton is still working on finalizing plans regarding spectators at outdoor events, but check back on the Athletics News page for updates and other exciting news from the department.

This year will be much different than those in the past, but with continued vigilance and everyone working together, our athletes can achieve their ultimate goal of getting back on the field.
