Workshop: “Seeds and Stories from the Land of the Lenape”

September 30 @ 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM EDT

The East 40 is thrilled to partner with Touchstone Theatre for this year’s Festival Unbound celebration of arts and community. Our contribution to this days-long event is a hands-on experience at the East 40, “Seeds and Stories from the Land of the Lenape.”

Join us for a workshop focused on appreciating the land that we inhabit. Enjoy the stories and language of the Lenape, make your own paper, and create your own poems, all while immersed in the wonderful, natural beauty of the Lehigh Valley.

Saturday, Sept 30 – 10 a.m.-12:30.p.m.*

*A shuttle van is available from NCC’s Fowler Center; it leaves at 10 a.m. to travel to the East 40. The workshop runs from 10:30 a.m. – noon, and the van returns to Fowler at 12:30 p.m.

This event is FREE to attend but you must make a reservation due to limited spots.

We’ll draw upon the talents of Adam DePaul, Chief of Education of the Lenape Nation, and Shelley DePaul, Clan Mother and Language Director of the Lenape Nation. They’ll be joined by two of our summer 2023 Artists-in-Residence, poet Abigail Michelini and paper maker Amanda Thackray, and Kelly Allen, NCC East 40 Coordinator.
